Barren Ground Caribou on Alaska tundra

Adak Island, Alaska

Barren Ground Caribou Hunting

One of the last truly wild caribou hunts in North America — no roads, no crowds, just you and the tundra.

The Hunt

Adak Island hosts a thriving population of Barren Ground Caribou introduced decades ago and now fully wild. With no roads connecting the island and access only by air, every hunt is a true wilderness experience.

Non-resident hunters are allowed 2 bulls per season. Our guided hunts put you in position for trophy-class animals on open tundra, glassing for mature bulls across dramatic Aleutian terrain.

Capt. Chris and his team provide full drop-off transport via ATV and on-foot glassing to locate herds. Shots are typically 100–400 yards across open tundra — bring a flat-shooting rifle and quality optics.
